First of all, I want to be really corny and say thank you to you, whoever you are. If you haven’t noticed, there is no monetization or advertising. I maintain and work on this site because I truly enjoy doing it and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do presenting it to you. I don’t use any fancy cameras or have much web designing experience. The majority of what you see here if just me being interested in something food related, reading about it, taking some pictures with my Pixel XL and trying to write about it hoping someone will find it as interesting as I do. I try not to rush any content so often times there will be gaps between times I write. So again, thank you for checking me out and if you enjoy what you are reading I would appreciate you sharing on Facebook or spreading the word in whatever way you can.
I also want to say thank you to everyone and anyone in the food industry for providing different experiences so a guy like me can have different options and try new things. I will be the first one to tell you that I have never worked in the food industry and have much respect for anyone in it. You will rarely see me write a “bad review” about a restaurant because I think anyone that gets into the business and succeeds deserves all the props in the world. So again, thank you to the people providing me all of this delicious food.
Lastly, I want to thank the people that have shaped my food beliefs and helped become a somewhat capable home cook on my own.
Alton Brown – For Good Eats. Enough said.
J. Kenji Lopez-Alt – For picking up where Alton Brown left off and making science interesting.
Fergus Henderson – For the introduction to “nose to tail” eating and using the whole animal as a sign of respect.
Anthony Bourdain – For my sometimes annoying food opinions and exposing me to other cultures’ food I would have never known about.
Rick Bayless – For an introduction into higher end Mexican cuisine.
Uncle Jim – For making me eat BBQ ribs on a styrofoam tray in downtown Washington DC when I was 8 years old and building my love for BBQ.
My Mom – For cooking mass quantities and varieties of food for my brother and I growing up. Chili, fajitas and spaghetti with Italian sausage remain my favorites.
My Dad – For the swordfish steaks, Steak Au Poivre and making sure I experienced great food growing up.
My Wife – For alway supporting and joining in on my culinary obsession even though her favorite meal is mashed potatoes and chicken nuggets.
